A charging valve is used when a secured air supply pressure or pressure sensitive signal is needed. Charging valves are usually used to prioritize the loading of the brake system reservoirs (known as sequential charging), i.e. the charging valve avoids the charging of suspension and auxiliary system reservoirs before the brake system reservoirs are charged adequately Once the output pressure drops below the valve's closing pressure, the pressure must increase up to the opening level again before any further delivery to the system happens.
